Clean clean clean

There's only four days left including today, until the end of this year.
Me and my housemate cleaned up the bathroom today.
I would say it became cleaner than it was before we came in this summer lol
It is nice to tidy up the place you belong to at the certain time in a year.
I have heard that when your surroundings are quite messy, that means
your mind is messed up as well...
I hope my mind cleared up as I tidied up my house and room ;-)
Just before the new year!

Today is Ringo Starr's day.

London

Today I went to London,
There were not so much of people than I expected,
but the area for the sale every shops were full of people.
So tired today, I had a headache as I walked throuth those dusty street

And I forced myself not to buy clothes even they are on sale price,
cuz I spent much money this month...
But I got loads of Japanese food stuff, for the ingredient of
recipe for celebrating the new year.
And guess what else I bought?
Harry Potter's philosopher's stone in Japanese edition...!
I got it in English, but when I read it for the first time was in my mother tongue
so there are much differences in feeling when I read in a different language.
The book which changed my life (yeah it's true!)
The book made the reason why I am here, England now.

I can't wait to open the wrapping to read it,
but let me sleep for this time, sooooo tired...

And here is the second drawing for today.
John Lennon.

Decision

Today was a Boxing day.
Although not all of the shops started to open again,
we went to town to just have a cup of coffee and do something.
(The great escape from our house-bound life!)

I did a sketch, which is the thing I haven't done for so long time,
and I realised that my drawing became awful.
I used to draw something often last year, (at least before this summer)
because I was afraid of losing my drawing skill which I have learned
well in high school.
If I don't draw, I will easily not be able to draw like as it used to be.

When I was learning art at high school, I was taught that the
sketches and dessins are the fundamental skills to visualise my idea.
So I should've drawn something even every single day.

And also when I was talking to my friend today
we realised how we have been lazy for studying.
Not only English.

So I make a decision to draw something a day.
I think it would be a people, perhaps musicians(as usual, for me!).

Here is the first sketch of George Harrison, (The Beatles)
as a starting point.

Tomorrow is London.

Enjoyed London for two days instead of having chocolate in Brussels...

Hello,

I supposed to be here, England after I enjoyed
Belgium before Christmas.
But I couldn't, unfortunately indeed.

Because of these days' terrible weather,
As some of my friends in Japan already know
that there were a trouble with the Eurostar on 19th December,
the night right before our departure.

The main reason why the trains stuck and stop
with losing electricity when they are running through the
tunnel under the sea was, the difference of temperature
between dreadfully cold sea and inside of warm tunnel.

Anyway Eurostar couldn't operate any service for several days,
and eventually, our trip was cancelled.
This is sooooo sad incident just before Christmas for us,
so we have been just lazy and forgot everything what we
have to do for this holiday :P

Instead of having fun in Belgium, we went to London St Pancras
for just make sure if the trains are running or not.
And we just couldn't went home with getting nothing,
so hang around London for two days and had a quite nice
shopping. (At least, London has a wonderful sky in those two days )

Belgium!

How cold -6 degrees?
We had snow last two days, and that was awfully freezing!

I am going to travel Belgium - Brussels for 3 days from tomorrow...
And the temperature would be like -6 degrees in there.
By the way London was -1゜ today.

But I am so exciting about it, to go to Belgium...
We supposed to travel Germany this winter to see Christmas illumination,
but we couldn't afford the expensive flight ticket to there.

Anyway Belgium is famous for Chocolate, waffle...
(omg always have poor knowledge about other countries nothing but food)
And, it is the city where my favorite surrealism artist, Rene Magritte spent much of his life.

And the architecture, which has a lot of influence of Art Nouveau, can be
seen in this country.

This is going to be really nice travel!
and I got a toy camera recently, and think this is the time to try it, definitely.

Can't wait to get inspirations in there.
so see you in next week. :)

Day and Night

Why we have rain and a plenty of cloud everyday?
Why the sun will go down so soon??
Sometimes I feel like I couldn't see a bit of sunshine all day long.

This is the reason I have been feel so depressed these days...
Although I finished handing in my essay,
although the Christmas break will come in a week,
I was feeling that somehow my motivation will be gone so soon.

So rather than hating doing something,
I thought I should take advantage of this plenty of time
that I have... reading books, magazine, probably.
And watch the film or movie on the internet?

Oh this is strange because I am a kind of person who
hates killing time.
At least before, I considered that surfing on the internet is
wasting-time. But these days I finally realised the importance of
learning something, keep myself updated, and fill my empty
head with full of information :P

I definitely think that my speed of reading in English
became faster and listening skill became pretty much better
since I came here...UK...
2 years ago, I knew nothing. Nothing about England's living
or how the youth life look like, all I knew was the thing I saw and read
on TV, magazine, and newspapers in Japan.

I know I need more time to get closer to UK,
while I am struggling with language barrier and cultural differences.
But I got a skill to think thing in a positive way these days lol
Good thing.

Electric Feel

1MAN

This is an old project that I was working on this spring,
I just left it for whole summer...

These images are dedicated to the music 'Electric Feel' by MGMT.
I stuck a thousands of beads on to the board and scanned them.
Which looks like a digitally pixelised portrait with psychedelic colours.

Digging out the new.

I was wandering around on the internet to find out my "new favorite",
and just came across this band, The xx.

All member are quite young, like 20.
Their sound is just simple. Doesn't have any extra tone.
I just love the harmony that two vocal making in different tone of voices.

December edition of The stool pigeon has already picked them up for the front cover.

Check them out ; )

Open!

Hello :-)
This is my new English blog.
In order to encourage myself to write my thoughts and daily things
(relating to art and that sort of stuff) in English.

But basically I think the contents would be quite same as my
original Japanese blog,
**The Rest is still Unwritten.**
Or maybe something which better to be written in English will be up on here.

Anyway, here is the start point, and I will do my best to keep my blog fresh & updated
(which is I hardly manage to do so on my Japanese one... :P)
