Skipping rope

Today I spend morning playing around with wax seal that I got in Venice,
and made a piece of work for my bookbinding project.

On last year's November I did bookbinding and made a book which is called
'Book of silence'
Tomorrow I have to bring my work for displaying in a small space in uni,
but I haven't done any development or something on my book since I finished it last year.
So I just made a little version of my book's inside images,
to make it more easy to look at when it will be displayed.





And I got developed films of Toy camera today, and also the data and printed photo that I took in Paris early in this month.
Finally!
I really satisfied with the effect, this dark, blur image is exactly what I expected! XD
Now I'm really excited,
cuz I brought my other films that I used in Venice trip to ask them again to develop.
And this time I successfully made it with cheaper price, yey :)
What a wonderful thing in the world... Student Discount.lol

I can't wait to see my photos to be developed!
And I will upload some of my photos soon xx

Tokyo day

A drop of ink

Today I went to an event about Japan in London,'Tokyo day'.
I was expecting some kind of enjoyable festival or something,
but it was quite serious one.
But I could see the professional's work of Ukiyo-e and painting on kimono.

These days Japan tends to pushing the Otaku culture too much.
So I was satisfied to see true Japanese tradition on this event lol

Venice trip day 5

Sky & Land



On the last day's morning we walked to rialto bridge again and walked back through different way to bus terminal.
And then we found nice clothes&lace shop in the end.
And I bought lots of strings and laces again... though I decided not buy anymore yesterday...:P






In this trip, I got three wax stamp,
which is made of metal and press it to heaten wax to make a seal.
I've got my initial, owl, and sand-glass symbols.
Now I really want to collect them!

Anyway on this trip I am quite happy to have enough time to look around and know the Venice,
(and had a nice shopping time!)
I want to come back here again sometime in summer :D that would be more beautiful I guess.

Venice trip day 4

Went to San Marco for the last time again, to see the church and palace,
and we actually get inside of 'The bridge of sigh'!

But not inside the church... oh what have I done?
I just forgot! lol

and we went to the Museum, beside San Marco square,and there they
displaying the exhibition of drawings from 19th century Venice.

This exhibition was so nice!
Just kept make me want to draw...:)





This is a shop of mask beside the Rialto bridge,
and this shop's owner used to design and make masks for the film 'eyes wide shut'.
(By the way I've never seen this film before! I should check this out...)

Every masks in this shop looks so real, and my friend got one.
It also looks so real, and fit to everyone's face so much! a bit scary...



This shop's products were so cute!
I got a hat! I wanna go again!



These dolls are also my friends'.
Now I want to learn more about Venezian history!
There are lots of interesting things such as theatre, fashion, and tradition :D

Venice trip day 3

glass, lace and lights

On third day we went two other small islands which placing northern part of main island.
Murano and Brano (I'm not sure whether my spelling is correct or not though).
Murano is famous for making Venezian Glass,
So there were quite? a lot of shops of glass-made products, and factory.





This is the bracelet that I got from Murano, Loved this shop!



Next island, Burano was famous for hand-made lace,
but also this lovely colourful houses.

This was really small island, you can walk from edge to edge of this island in 20-30 minutes.




Lamps on the sea was so beautiful...

Venice trip day2

wax, pen and hours

We supposed to escape from cloudy dumpy weather,
but surprisingly we had snow on second day in Venice!!

That was soooooo freezing. My hand and feet almost became ice.

On this day we took water-bus (Vaporetto) to San Marco first,
and walk back to our hotel, going through the main part of island.




We went to cafe Florian, which is the oldest cafe in Europe.
Inside was quite gorgeous, but also nicely old.

Every Italian coffee was so delicious!
Even I am not the person who drinks coffee so much, I could feel how nice taste they are.

Venice trip day1

venice day 1

Now I am back from Venice trip!
25th to 29th, 5 days trip.

On 25th we left our town like about 6 in the morning,
took train to London, took a bus to Stanstead Air port, and then
after about hours flight, we were in Italy.

The time we actually got to Venice was about half past 3, so we just walk around our hotel after we dropped off our luggage to hotel room.
At first, I thought Venice was quite big than I thought, but I found out the each island is small and if you go in to middle part of main island, you will know how easily you can get lost even each islands are quite small.




As I saw somewhere in magazine or book, Venice was full of this kind of Masks,
And I just LOVE it!
I really this sort of strange things, lol
But there were plenty of masks, I took so much time to go and look around many kinds of designs.







The journey from my town to Venice was sooo long...

We fell in to sleep really early on this day, like 9 to 10 o'clock.

I got the ticket of MIKA's show on February todaay
I thought no one would come this morning, so I was still in a bed when postman came and asked me to sign...

And I went to town to collect my printed photos from the shop, which is the photos I took in France.
This is took by using Toy camera so I was excited to see it, but there was no CD(containing the data of these films) inside the envelop so I went back to the shop and ask them.
Then I found out I have to wait one more day to get the CD.
And I'm going away from tomorrow!
So I can't see them until I come back... what a disappointment.

And yes
I will go to Venice for 5 days from tomorrow! yey!
So I should take toy camera pics of Venice this time.
But I forgot to get films of 120 in London! gosh!
I hope they sell this film at the airport...

Anyway I will go away and come back on 29th.
So see you untill then ;-)

Beatles to Bowie

I finally went the exhibition 'Beatles to Bowie (the 60s exposed)' at National portrait gallery yesterday.
2nd from the final day! phew...
I can't believe there were so many people and even I get there about 1, I couldn't get in untill 3.30 because of the limitation of entry.

the exhibition itself was so nice. I'm really happy that I could finally see it.
If you are interested in either 60s or music in that era, this exhibition would be really exciting one to see.
The catalogue of this exhibition was quite expensive to buy, but I about to buy other book about 60s...lol
Twiggy's book was 20 pounds!
but I controlled myself...

Now I'm really keen to listen to 60s music much more!
There were some bands and artist I've never heard of.

beauty & the beast

beginning of the story

Today I feel like waste my time pretty much...
But I finally I send parcel to my mum. hope it will be in time.
worked at the library, got some books out...

Oh yes I got this book out today,
the book of illustration by Sara Midda




This book is so nice, to see the lovely illustrations of her journey,
from her sketchbook.

I never knew that she was kind of famous in Japan,
she did some product design for Japanese department store.

Anyway inside of this book is full of cheerful colour.
I really like her detailed cute little illustrations!

I watched Beauty and the beast for the first time in my life(!)
No I'm not joking, for the FIRST TIME!

I can't believe that I've been living without knowing this film!!
Sooo beautiful and I like it X)

I think Im gonna watch as much disney animation as I can from now.lol

End of semester 3

My semester 3 is finished today!
We already get an introduction for new term,
and our class will going to be split into two.
One is team work again, doing some commercial thing
and another is personal project, you can do whatever you like.

It seems really nice opportunity to know commercial world,
this looks much more professional and connected to the future directly.

But what I am doing and what I am interested in the future is not
that kind of area anyway so I decided to do PDP.

I broke my phone yesterday so I went and get my new phone today.
There's a lots of difference between this new one and my old one.

Unexpected expense of this month but Im quite happy :)

Now I need to get used to it lol

the boyfriend film

Today I watched a film that I've been really keen to see, the boyfriend.
This film is made in late 60s and Twiggy is acting as a heroine in it.
Story was about the girl who works in theatre.
I didn't expected so much before I see it because this was made in about 40 years before anyway, and thought this was quite minor, boring film.
But it wasn't. The dancing(especially the tap dance) was amazing, and I really like its atmosphere including set design, fashion, and the colour which reminds me art deco poster.
The scene of party at the end was sooooo cute, I loved that kind of weird world!
I think this is one of the film which hard to get and be seen these days, but I think it is worth to find and see.
